Horizontal screw conveyor for drill cuttings manufactured as a part of a project with 3 screw conveyors. The screw conveyors are delivered for final use on an offshore drill rig.

The horizontal screw conveyors are supplied with intermediate bearings to ensure that the screw rotors are self carried.

What is the key design features for these intermediate bearings?

1. The intermediate bearings are manufactured including hardy discs
2. The hardy discs ensures flexibility in the screw rotor during operation
3. The bronze bearing is enclosed in a steel house and only need greasing on occasional time interval

It is very seldom possible to let horizontal screw conveyors “jump over buck” in an off-shore application due to the limited space.

Due to this fact, BEMA has developed its own intermediate bearing for our off-shore horizontal screw conveyor designed specific for this environment.
