The U-trough screw conveyors are designed and manufactured in accordance with the food directive EC-1935/2004.
The 3 screw conveyors distribute the material from one inlet to four outlets without using gate valves. 1 inlet to 4 outlets can be solved by using 3 pcs. reversible screw conveyors.
In the inlet, BEMA has implemented a hygienic developed manual operated gate plate to direct the material flow in a certain direction. This solution is relevant if the material flow is high and the density is low. In such case the material behavior can be fluidic. The guide plate will avoid the material to flow toward the other outlet.
What is the advantages to avoid gate valves on outlets?
- When the gate valve is closed there will always gather material between the gate valve plate and the U-trough
- Using a concept with reversible screw conveyors ensures that you can empty the screw conveyor and increase the hygienic level
- Over time gate valves have a tedency to leak material – this is problematic in clean areas/hygienic areas
