Process screw conveyor for cabbage cooking – 24263
Process screw conveyor for cabbage cooking manufactured for a manufacturing line to cook and prepare cabbage.
What processes solve the screw conveyor?
- The screw conveyor transports the cabbage from the inlet to the outlet
- During the transport the added steam pre-cook the cabbage – the retention time is app. 8 minutes
- The screw conveyor in the outlet takes the cabbage to the next manufacturing step
The customer had a good specification of the retention time which made it east to specify the gear box. This also reduced the risk of combination risk between the process in the screw conveyor and the transport of material.
Key features of the steam system
- The steam system is manufactured with 150 inlets to distribute the steam as continous as possible
- The steam pipes are app. 100 mm. long to ensure that the pipes can move caused by the temperature differences in the system
- The through of the screw conveyor is supplied with a drainage system in the bottom to remove condensate

Insulation of the process screw conveyor
- The trough is insualted to reduce the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the screw conveyor
- The lids are also insulated to reduce the temperature difference, but also ensure that manufacturing people can operate the screw conveyor
- The cover of the insulation is made in stainless steel plate and 100% welded for cleaining possibilities
Design of the process screw conveyor in accordance with EC-1935/2004
- 2B-plates used whereever possible
- All welding 100% with TIG processes
- The screw flights are manufactured with a cut-out for easier inside cleaning – see the pictures
