Horizontal screw conveyors manufactured for industrial use. The screw conveyor type is through screw conveyors. A screw conveyor is considered as horizontal in case the inclination is less than 15°.

In this project BEMA has manufactured 4 pcs. horizontal screw conveyors.

What features are applied into an industrial application with screw conveyors?

1. The screw conveyor trough is manufactured in 5 mm. thickness
2. The drive station is manufactured with a torque arm enable to take up the full load in case the screw rotor is blocked
3. Look on the pictures to see the torque arm
4. Bearings in drive and following end are spherical roller bearings
5. Paint is performed to class C5

Horizontal through screw conveyors are used in many different applications for transporting bulk material in rough industrial environment.

What filling degree should be designed for a horizontal screw conveyor?

• A horizontal screw conveyor should in general have a filling degree of 30%
• In case of abrasive material it shall be less – down to 10%
• For light flowing material the filling degree can be increased to 40-45% as a maximum
