Inclined tube conveyors for transport of coal and biomass inside a powerplant. The project contains 2×3 tube conveyors

3 pipe conveyors transport from one silo system to another

• Extraction screw in bottom of the silo
• Transportation/lifting screw
• Feeding screw into the receiving silo system

All 3 screw conveyor solve a specialised transportation demand.

What design requirements have BEMA solved?

• Pressure resistance up to 10 barG. FEM analysis of the houses have been performed
• Gear motor design prepared for frequency control. It is possible to change the mass flow instantly (the gear motors coupled together)
• Risk analysis of the complete screw system

Features for the tube conveyors:

• All inlets and outlet manufactured with bolted flanges
• Service openings (pressure tight) implemented
• Wear resistant plates in critical areas inside the housing
• Delivered with slide gate valves to close the transport system during non-operation

In this project BEMA has assisted the final customer with engineering assistance to implement the tube conveyors into the existing machines in the powerplant. The engineers have taken measurement in the powerplant and assured that all designed machines can be placed without clashing with other equipment.

5. Related technical issues to be clarified for the screw conveyors

In this actual case BEMA has supplied static calculations for the tube conveyors and assisted in making an ATEX analysis of the conveyors due to a dusty environment. In the actual case, temperature sensors on the bearings of the tube conveyors have been implemented.
