What is the purpose to make holes in the screw flight?

1. The holes can drain liquid in case you transport a mixture of solids and fluids
2. The size of the holes shall drain liquid and avoid blocking from the solids – requires process knowledge

Sectional screw flights with holes are a special type of cylindrical screw flights. In BEMA we call such screw flights “special screw flights” because they require a detail design and more handling in the manufacturing process.
