What does an ACTA Bale Opener do?

An ACTA Bale Opener, such as this one, is a specialized machine used in PET bottle recycling. It plays a vital role in loosening compressed bales of PET bottles, regardless of bale size or compression level.

Being a low-speed, high-torque machine, the ACTA Bale Opener gently opens the bales, ensuring that each PET bottle remains intact and unshredded. This is crucial as recycling plants prefer whole PET bottles to optimize subsequent processes like optical material sorting, color sorting, label and caps removal, or washing, thereby enhancing the quality of the resulting rPET.

The main feature of the ACTA is its ability to use the material against itself to create a kneading process. Additionally, the ACTA screws never touch each other, which minimizes maintenance and extends the machinery’s lifespan, often beyond 40 years.
