Under the ACTA brand, we supply crushers/shredders globally for crushing/shredding gypsum, plastic, insulation material, wood waste, household waste, paper, PET bottles, and many other types of waste. These machines play an effective part in the growing recycling industry to recover materials to be reused in production rather than using virgin materials.
ACTA crushers/shredders come in various sizes with different appliances according to the specific materials they are required to handle. High reliability, long lifetime, and a minimum of maintenance are key words describing these machines.

Why is the ACTA Crusher used within the Gypsum Industry?
Production waste – gypsum plasterboards as well as gypsum scrap – is crushed in order to be recycled in the production process. You just fill the hopper with complete boards and/or scrap and the crusher will do the rest – the paper will more or less be separated from the gypsum. The size of the output is your choice in the flexible cutting system. In the outlets you can mount the hole disc with hexagonal holes in order to bring down the ourput size.
The Acta crusher is used for breaking down electronic waste to reduce volume and subsequently separate the material into plastic, other artificial materials and metals.
Mineral wool, glass wool, or similar insulation materials are great materials which, in the right circumstances, can be reused time and again. An ACTA machine has unrivalled qualities when it comes to crushing and loosening the insulation material. This is true of both off-cuts and such like from the production process and salvaged material from building sites. After being processed by an ACTA machine, crushed material can be returned to become an integral part of the production once more or be stored for later use.
Crushed Wood Waste is often used as fuel chips/briquettes or as “new” raw material for chip board production. Due to the fact that wood waste contains a lot of foreign items such as nails, screws, brackets etc. it is a must that the wood waste is pre crushed before entering into a fine shredder. The ACTA Crusher is your optimal solution as a pre breaker for wood waste – with the flexible cutting system you can choose the size of the output which is the most suitable for you. You just fill the hopper with wood waste and the crusher does the rest.

Contact Ronni K. Laursen and find out more about BEMA’s solutions for crushers.
BEMA supplies bale openers, shredders, and crushers used in utility companies, for the crushing and shredding of media, in the recycling industry, and in primary industries. In tandem with recycling becoming essential in all areas of society and recycling occurring in all industries, ACTA shredders, ACTA crushers, and ACTA bale openers are becoming ever more essential in many industrial sectors.
Along with BEMA’s product line of augers and screw augers, equipment for screw conveying, and screw conveyor flights, all of them available as component parts as well as integral to total solutions, ACTA and BEMA’s process equipment represent a comprehensive and upmarket product range for many industrial sectors.
Our experience with high-quality industrial production means that we can offer customers crushers, shredders, and bale openers at reasonable prices. Many years in the business means that BEMA is a stable collaboration partner and a solution from BEMA is therefore synonymous with a safe and long-term solution.
ACTA crushers and shredders are used in many sectors. They are used for crushing gypsum, shredding mineral wool (mineralwool), glass wool (glasswool), rock wool (rockwool), insulation material, wood waste (woodwaste), recycled wood, wooden pallets, plastic pallets, PET bottles, plastic bottles, paper, cardboard, and much else. ACTA crushers and shredders are also used for grinding organic materials. This includes abattoir waste, plant waste, compost, etc. as part of further processing procedures.
ACTA crushers are perfect for crushing demolition waste, building waste, building-site waste, and production cut-offs. Consequently, ACTA crushers are used in the primary industries themselves and in secondary industries or ancillary industries for recycling, reuse, recovery, or similar. ACTA crushers are e.g. used for crushing gypsum boards from gypsum-board producers. The crushed material can then be reused in a new production of gypsum boards.
ACTA crushers/shredders are efficient to crush building waste, gypsum, and to shred insulation materials.
An ACTA crusher or shredder is constructed with rotating knives in strong steel capable of crushing or shredding even the most difficult items.
The rotating knives are placed side by side and the machine can then be sized to incorporate additional knives next to one another, depending on the capacity required of the crusher. Items to be crushed or shredded are placed in the infeed hopper above the knives and the output is conveyed by screw augers/screw conveyors at the bottom of the machine.
The functional principle is fairly simple, but the requirements for power and construction are substantial. ACTA crushers and shredders have been produced since 1976 and some of these machines are still in use around the world.
This is due to a very well-tested design and strong construction with a documented longevity.
The machines are constructed for specific needs, typically with slow-rotating knives and screw augers, high-powered gear motors with individual controls to provide the machine with a large-scale power reserve.
ACTA machines are available with screws and knives in both carbon steel and stainless steel.
Gypsum is a wonderful material which can be reused time after time. That is to say that residues can be crushed and form part of a new production of gypsum boards. Gypsum-board residues, faulty products, etc. are dropped into the infeed hopper of the ACTA machine to be crushed in the machine. The output size can be selected to suit the purpose. The perforated disc can e.g. be fitted with hexagonal holes dimensioned to reduce the size of the crushed material.
We produce large amounts of e-waste or waste from electronic and electronic equipment (WEEE). When we e.g. replace our smartphones, computers, or flat screens, they are deposited for recovery. By crushing electronic waste in a crusher, it can be separated into metal, plastic, and other synthetic substances, which are recoverable. Crushing and shredding of waste materials is crucial to ensure increased sustainability, more green solutions, more reuse and recycling – resulting in overall reductions in consumption and less negative environmental impact on our planet.
We reuse paper, cardboard, and carton to a great extent. It is collected via shops, in industry, and household refuse collection and sent on to recycling. Typically, in hard-pressed bales. They can be opened and loosened with an ACTA bale opener. Following this, the material can be further reduced in a shredder, so that the shredded paper material can be made into recycled paper and cardboard. The recycling is done by placing the used paper in large tanks with pulp. Loose and shredded paper and cardboard dissolves faster, thereby making the recycling process more efficient.
Mineral wool, glass wool, rock wool – insulation materials used everywhere in the building trade. Residues and discarded insulation material can be shredded in an ACTA shredder for reuse. Since it is very energy-intensive to produce e.g. rock wool, recycling it plays an important role in the circular economy.
Wood waste can also be shredded with advantage. It can then be reused as chipboard, as fuel in combined heat and power plants (CHP plants), or similar. Wood waste often contains nails, screws, and fittings and will therefore need to be coarsely shredded in a pre-breaker, before being shredded more finely.
PET bottles – non-returnable plastic bottles – are retrieved and reused for new plastic-based materials. It is environmentally friendly, sustainable, and reduces consumption of natural resources. The bottles are pressed in large, highly compressed bales. The bales are opened using an ACTA bale opener, after which they are loosened and typically go on to a crusher that crushes the plastic bottles further, or they are reused as they are.
Since 1947, BEMA has been a major supplier for the industrial market, the recycling industry, and the utilities industry.
