Screw rotor rack  for loosen dried malt developed and manufactured for a malt factory. BEMA has developed a rack containing two screw rotors with the purpose to loosen malt during the drying process.

What is the function of the screw rotor rack?

• The rack sits in a frame that can move longitudinally above the malt vessel
• In each side of the frame there is a rack with a pinion so the screw rotors can be moved up and down in the vessel
• The purpose of the screw rotors is to loosen the malt in the end of the drying process to avoid bridge building above the extraction screw rotor in the bottom

BEMA has solved the task in close cooperation with the end customer.

Description of the screw rotor rack design

1. The ability to move up and down is solved by using racks and pinions – a well known classical solution
2. A standard gear box is used to drive the pinions
3. A standard steel frame is used to carry the screw rotors and the racks

All elements for the screw rotor solution is classical well known components, but the different classical methods create a new solution for the customer which solve a big problem.

Before shipping the machine to the customer all function has been tested in our factory. Our factory has an assembly building where tests and FAT procedures can take place.
