Screw press conveyor for dewatering – 18725
Screw press conveyor for dewatering waste material from a food manufacturing plant.
Screw press conveyors are well suited for pressing:
- Organic material
- Sludge
- Compressible substances containing water to be drained
How is the screw press working?
- The press process is done in the screw rotor where the volume between the screw flights are reduced in the transport direction
- The outlet is reduced to create a back pressure to the media
- A perforated plate is used in the outlet zone where the water can drain out
A screw press conveyor is a mechanical machine and the press process is done completely mechanical.
Advantages of using a press screw conveyor
- The machine is plain and do not require continously maintenance
- The screw auger runs at low speed and require much less power compared to other process machines for separating
- It is realtively easy to modify, the screw rotor and the perforated plate to optimize the press process
Requirements for using a press screw conveyor
- The press process is hard to predict in advance
- You must expect to make adjustments when you install the press screw depending on the material you want to press
- Types of adjustments are typical:
- Changing the conical outlet
- Changing the holes in the perforated plate in the outlet zone
- Changing the screw auger
When you obtain the result you can accept, you will have a plain and very easy process which require low maintenance over time.
BEMA is not a specialist in handling processes, but we are able to assist in all aspects of the mechanical design:
- Adjustments of the outlet
- Delivering perforated plates with other hole geometry
- Modification of the screw auger
