Design points to consider in an ash screw conveyor

1. Temperature of the ash. Important to note if the ash is completely cooled down or coming directly from the boiler system
2. The inclination of the screw conveyor – in general make the inclination as small as possible
3. Ensure a low filling degree – low filling degree and low speed of the gearbox will prolong the lifetime of the screw rotor significantly
4. Avoid intermediate bearings in the screw conveyor!
5. Material selection – if the ash i agressive consider stainless steel material
