2024 – A Year of Growth and Development

We extend our sincere gratitude to our customers and business partners who have supported us throughout 2024. This year has witnessed significant growth and development at BEMA A/S, with heightened activity across our product lines, including augers, rotors, crushers, and bale openers.

A notable milestone in 2024 was the acquisition of Anders Pedersen, Maskin- og Specialfabrik A/S in Barrit near Juelsminde, marking BEMA’s entry into the consolidation of the screw industry. This move is essential for addressing the increasing demands for technical expertise, a specialized sales force, and substantial investment to maintain our competitive edge. The acquisition opportunity arose as owner Arild Pedersen approaches retirement and seeks to ensure the company’s continuity under a new framework, creating a mutually beneficial scenario for both entities.

We are in the process of merging our operations, with plans to consolidate all manufacturing at BEMA’s facility in Haderslev, which offers excellent prospects for ongoing growth and development.

As we approach the festive season, we are focused on concluding this year’s activities successfully. On December 5th, we hosted a networking event that brought together almost 40 representatives from companies across Denmark. Concurrently, we celebrated the 20-year anniversary of businesses operating in the industrial area at Bredholm in Haderslev. Our decision to relocate to Bredholm remains strategic, with opportunities for further expansion in an area enriched with fruit trees and other valuable plantings.

On behalf of everyone, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

PERFORATED SCREW FLIGHTS FOR THE FOOD SECTOR

We have developed a series of perforated screw flights for a client in the food industry, enabling the efficient separation of solid and liquid components during material transport. This auger solution is particularly effective for various food production processes, including the transport of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished items, where solid elements must be separated from cooking broths or other liquids.

The solution features a diameter of 1,230 mm, constructed from 1.4301/AISI-304 steel. The considerable diameter necessitates stringent material standards and precision; thus, we employed laser cutting to ensure optimal fit and functionality.

This project exemplifies BEMA’s commitment to collaborating closely with our customers to create tailored solutions. The precise hole sizing in the design is crucial for the effective separation of solid and liquid materials, preventing clogs and ensuring operational efficiency.

Our manufacturing process ensures that the components seamlessly integrate with the overall system, reducing assembly time, minimizing welding requirements, and facilitating rapid installation for quicker operational readiness. Additional specialized windings, such as conical designs or those featuring cutouts, can also be developed in partnership with our clients.

THE SCREW DEFROSTS THE FISH

In the fishing industry, where frozen raw materials are commonplace, BEMA has recently delivered an auger solution that efficiently thaws frozen fish during transport. This system allows for the adjustment of thawing time using a frequency converter, ensuring that the fish reaches the desired temperature for subsequent processing.

Perforated rotor flights facilitate the separation of liquids from the fish as it moves through the system. The scalable configuration of the augers, divided into sections, integrates seamlessly into the overall processing plant, enhancing operational efficiency. The outer diameter of the augers measures 2,000 mm, with a length of approximately 4.5 m.

BEMA is certified to manufacture food industry equipment in accordance with the EU food directive, EC-1935/2004. The supplied augers are fabricated from 1.4301/AISI-304 steel and undergo acid treatment following welding to meet stringent food safety requirements. All welding is performed to ensure compliance with industry standards.
